Within Reach

Book

Work in the community is well within reach of people with disability and this resource assists families to clarify their understanding of the current work environment and career development concepts. How people gain a sense of "what they want to be when they grow up" is a subtle process that begins when children are very young. Parents play an important role in helping their children move towards and gain meaningful work. It is important for parents to have some basic strategies and guidelines to use as they oversee their children's career development. This book describes the career building process and includes many ideas and examples about how people with disability can be successfully supported in open employment.
