This article adds weight to the argument that parents could gain a lot by opening stating that their desire for and work towards inclusion education was part of a much broader scheme of educational reform. It is a clearly written and easily understood article that discusses general problems in the education system and how the practice of 'special' education is a part of this. He also traces the historical development of such systems. Knight's central argument is that education ought to embrace the goal of democratic citizenship for everyone.
