This is a really great article about a group of parents who got together because they felt really disempowered by professionals. The parents wanted to share their stories, especially with physicians to help them become better able to provide appropriate health care. They eventually gained funding and the alliance program (PAPA) came to be. Hundreds of health care professionals and trainees have attended their panel presentations, viewed video tapes and used the educational material provided. The author discusses what is involved in PAPA presentations, how they use videos and what is actually in the video.
