Reasonable Accommodations: Strategies for teaching University Students with Disabilities

Book

"The concept of reasonable accommodation, or adjustment covers campus design, including the provision of equipment and access, and study course design. Applying the concept means that academic and administrative staff, wherever it is necessary, possible and reasonable to do so, take into account a student's disability and make appropriate adjustments to the learning environment to lessen the impact of disability". However, the obligation to accommodate students with disabilities extends beyond the moral responsibility and beyond the universities' commitment to fulfil the promise of access (p.3).
