This book provides an analytic review of issues relating to the care of newborns with severe disabilities, with particular emphasis on the human rights involved. Its purpose is to raise key issues and arguments associated with this subject in order to encourage public discussion which will assist the Human Rights Commission in deciding what action it should take in this context. It covers various forms of euthanasia, treatment and non treatment issues, murder and manslaughter, definitions of human beings and persons and the rights of people with disabilities and children.
