Finding the Blind Spot

Written Material

This brief article challenges us to think before we act. We need to be careful that , having worked out what a person with a disability needs are, we don't put all our energies into submission writing, managing services and formulating policies. We need to keep our activities person-centred rather than offering services into which the person is expected to fit. Carpenter notes that good things happen, usually on a small scale and with a lot of thought and care. She asks "How do we stay humble and simply keep asking 'How can I help?'" Keyword: Attitudes
