Helen Cox wrote this short paper explaining her disability which is acquired brain damage (ABD). She discusses her rehabilitation and how, in hindsight, she feels individuals should be instructed as though they will regain all their former abilities, but she also questions whether or not saving a life at any cost should continue. Another issue to consider is that of access - current access modifications are usually for people in wheelchairs, a different category to the 'walking disabled'.
