This paper discusses the validity of the role of the Public Guardian as an advocate. Included are additional papers on advocacy (by Wolf Wolfensberger) and guardianship. Simpson adds a later postscript to his paper, expressing his reservations about the idea of the Guardianship Board appointing a guardian purely to act as an advocate for a person with a disability.
