Two short articles, one by 11 yr old Barry and the other by his foster parents, show the transformation that has taken place in Barry, whose first seven years of life revolved around his medical needs. Since Barry joined David Lloyd's karate class, he has increased his strength and endurance and formed new friendships. Most importantly, he has made huge leaps in his self-esteem and confidence.
