"I Don't Know"

Written Material

This article considers the words "I don't know" and suggests that these three words can have a profound effect on the life of a child or adult with disability and their families. Instead of professionals telling parents what their children will not be doing, thereby prophesising doom and gloom, they should say they "don't know" or "anything is possible". Although a parent may not leap in the air with excitement at this statement, at least it keeps dreams alive or opens the door to creating a vision for the future for that child.
