From School to Real Work: A Social Inclusion Initiative

"They have a job just like their sisters and brothers...and they're valued." This article provides a brief overview of the status of open employment participation and people with intellectual disability in Australia. A brief overview is also included of the research findings about school-to-work practices that demonstrate effectiveness in assisting students with intellectual disability achieve open employment participation and provides a suggested recommendation for NCID to present to government on a school-to-work policy for people with intellectual disability.
