Disability Awareness Package

Kit

This manual is aimed at addressing the negative stereotyping of people with disabilities and its consequences by increasing understanding about life with a disability. It is divided into two sections: the first section considers issues such as legislation and rights; people with double disabilities; families & community; and attitudes, behaviour and language. The second section consists of modules on a wide range of disabilities. The manual addresses the myths and realities associated with disabilities and emphasises that people with disabilities are people first. Keyword: Attitudes
