Developing accessible services for people with a disability of non-English speaking people: a model

This is a paper about the need to improve the use of mainstream disability services by people with disabilities of non English speaking background (NESB). It describes a pilot project called the "Ethnic Access Consultancy Project" auspiced by Action on Disability within Ethnic Communities Inc. (ADEC) which has been assisting disability agencies to do this. The ADEC promoted a model using the philosophy of "access and equity" to disability organisations. Keyword: Cross Cultural
