Breast cancer screening for older women with intellectual disability living in community group homes

This article is based on a survey of older women with intellectual disability living in community group homes in the UK. While breast cancer remains a common cause of death in women, only one-third of the women carried out regular breast examination and a only one-third had received invitations to have a mammograph. The survey revealed the need for more informationon and support to be given to women with intellectual disability in regard to breast awareness and mammography services. Keywords: Health, Women
