Successful Inclusion...building allies, practical strategies
The school years have a far reaching impact on every student. This is a time when we develop our identities and sense of self worth. It is a time when we form friendships and learn what matters in the world.

Successful Inclusion... building allies, practical strategies will provide a unique opportunity to hear about what is possible for students with developmental disability attending school in a mainstream setting.

Through an exploration of research, personal experiences and discussion of inclusive practice, the Conference will provide a forum for the sharing of ideas and strategies around all students reaching their full potential at school and in life.

It is hoped that Conference participants will achieve a deeper understanding of
matters that contribute to more inclusive schools and communities.

On Friday 22 May, Conference content will be of relevance and interest to both
families of students with developmental disability and education professionals with topics including practical tips to enhance school inclusion.

On Saturday 23 May, the Conference will have a family focus with an exploration of the planning and thinking families can do to work with schools around successful
inclusion. The content on 23 May will be aimed at families and will also be useful to education professionals keen to build understanding of issues of relevance to
families.

Education professionals are likely to find the Conference more valuable if two or more representatives attend from each school or region.

Education professionals who attend the Conference on the second day are
encouraged to do so with the parent of a child in their class, school or region.

The New South Wales Department of Education and Training
has provided sponsorship towards the Conference.
